What a joy it is to surround yourself with art that speaks to your soul. I believe it is through art that we find each other, see life's meaning more deeply, and communicate without saying a word.
My passion for sparking joy comes to life as I paint. For me, this means interpreting places, people, and everyday objects in a lively, contemporary fashion through expressive brushwork and juicy, sun-drenched color.
Over the years, I have discovered a lovely synergy and connection that comes through painting works that seek to uplift the human spirit by bringing beauty, meaning, and hope to us all.

It is said that Art, in the fullest sense of the term, is the knowledge and understanding of man and every man's identification begins with oneself. I believe this is true and so, I create art that reflects my personal understanding and perception of the female narrative and the many roles we play. We are mothers, daughters, wives, grandmothers, sisters, friends, creatives ~ and those relationships are just as beautiful as they are complex. The way we move through the world is an endless source of inspiration: a small, knowing gesture; patterns and colors of clothing; a humorous laugh; the observance of a quiet moment of self-reflection.
Using my voice as an artist, I strive to speak in a visual language of color, value, rhythm, and harmony. In doing so, my hope is that I shed a lovely, warm light on the things we all hold dear ~ the deep, lasting bonds of love and friendship. This is partially why I tend to make paintings in a series, focusing on one particular subject matter so I can deepen my own understanding.

Looking back to my youth, it makes sense that I became an artist. I was born and raised near the National Gallery of Art, the Smithsonian Institution, and the Phillips Collection, in D.C. Fun fact: I also have a black belt in karate (Tang Soo Do style and Wu Shu style), which I was introduced to when I was 5 and continued to study and competed nationally through my 20s.
But art was and still is my true calling. I earned my bachelor’s in Industrial Design from the College of Architecture at Arizona State University. After college, I designed high-end custom rugs, worked as a marketing and graphic designer, assisted in a fine art gallery, served as lead graphic designer in a small marketing firm, and have taught oil painting classes and workshops.
My artwork has been featured in Southwest Art magazine and The PEO Record international magazine. I have exhibited work in national juried and invitational shows across the country, as well as Japan. My work has been collected by the Kaufman Financial Group, Porter Adventist Hospital and Kaiser Permanente.
I love working with collectors, interior designers, art consultants, and gallerists. If you'd like to see my work in person, you can reach me at [email protected] or follow this link.
